Error c2000003 Add slideshow operation failed

mcd4959

Question

Just upgraded to EMC 9 from EMC 8. 8 caused numerous problems after a year of use, Roxio support is awful at best, so I thought I'd upgrade to 9 and maybe things would be better.

First slideshow I tried to make today - I'm trying to add new menu items to a work in progress exisiting slideshow using the Add Slideshow function. There are only 4 menu buttons so far. Every time I try to add a new slideshow, button, movie, whatever, I get a box that says:

Add slideshow operation failed.

c2000003

And my only choice is to say OK. I searched Roxio's db and of course there are no matches for this error.

Can anyone here help? Thanks in advance.

Reading between the lines, I gather that you are trying to use the Slide Show Assistant in MyDVD.

1) I would first like to suggest that you create your slide show in VideoWave. It has more capability and more flexibility to create projects including slide shows. When you complete the project, just save the project file. You can then add the project to MyDVD by using the add new movie command. No need to pre-render it.

2) If you really, really want to use a slide show assistant, use the three step one under the Photo Tab. It works very similarly to the one in My DVD but again you can save that file or output it to mpg2. Just add the mpg2 to your MyDVD project as a new movie.

3) If you don't like any of those options, open MyDVD from your Windows start menu. There is a sometimes glitch in the Home Application page that doesn't allow some applications to load completely. See if that works.

4) Do a repair install of the program making sure that your anti-virus is turned off. Having it on during an install does not all the registry to be written properly.

Roll back to WMP 10 if you have installed WMP 11. Update your video cared drivers. That card may be new to you but may have been on the shelf months before it was put into your computer.
