Does any one know why after using the Roxio copy tool of an itunes burn sound disc that plays okay but when copied produces no sound but says all the information is correctly on the disk and appears to be so  ?

I am replying to bump this topic up. I am having the same problem. I can copy DVD's just fine, but when I try to convert a DVD into a .wmv file or .mpeg file using Disc Copy, the video conversion works just fine, but I get no audio at all. Just total silence. I can't seem to find an options or controls to adjust the audio in the program.

Perhaps the orginal poster has found a solution, or maybe somebody else knows the answer and could chime in.

Thanks in advance.

Unless I am missing something, this has absolutely nothing to do with the iTunes problem. You would be better off starting your own thread instead of bumping this one.

Let me make sure I understand you. Are you saying you used iTunes to burn a cd which then plays fine but then copied the cd to another and it doesn't? You should take that cd you burned in iTunes and rip the files to your hard drive then, burn those to cd.

Hope I got what you said right.

No. Not a peep from Roxio or any one else. Also be wary of maximising volume on tracks in sound editor as if you have a quiet track it will over cook it leaving you with distorted sounds!

Thanks Beerman. I will no doubt have to do that but I thought the copy program would be quicker and since I have multiple discs to copy for a charity it all adds to the time. (By the way the audio is a talk I have the rights to and therefore is legal) I thought some one from Roxio might answer and could explain why their programs don't always work!

Very unlikely anyone from Roxio would - they may pop up from time to time but, in general they leave us alone (and we don't pester them either)

I think the problem is that the iTunes CDs aren't quite iso standard - they're a proprietary Apply format which is why they won't copy in EMC. As Paul saysd, simple solution is rip them from the CD to the hard drive and make a new (iso standard) one from there
