davidncohen
Config: Dell Dimension 4300 XP SP2 XP all critical MS patches up-to-date LITE-ON LTR-24102M CD-RW DRIVE Windows Media Player 10.00.00.4036 Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.3.5.10 I did have some previous problems writing to CDs but upgraded Roxio to current version (above) and this worked. Since then, I've upgraded Media Player. I've also since upgraded (via MS Update) IE from V6 to V7. However, now I can play CDs, rip them, but burning just doesn't work (either with Media Player or Roxio or MS Explorer drag & drop) - nothing happens - I can just hear the drive whiring round. I took the drive out to see if it would work in a friend's DELL PC, but I don't think he had the right drivers, as he couldn't get to login. Any ideas - thanks in advance. gi7omy
IE7 has wrecked the ECD program - you will have to remove it and also WMP11 if you installed that
davidncohen
IE7 has wrecked the ECD program - you will have to remove it and also WMP11 if you installed that Thanks. I only have WM 10, so can I leave that? So, I just have to uninstall ECD and then I should be able to burn using WM 10 or IE, is this correct? If I want touse ECD again what version do I have to re-install? Regards, David
gi7omy
WMP 10 is fine - but ininstall IE7 and try ECD and see if it works IE7 will wreck all up to EMC8 and is also being reported as causing problems in EMC9 (the latest one)
