Toast 8 rebate hassle

Jim D.

Question

Is anyone being denied their Toast 8 rebate because of: Invalid Purchase Location?

I bought it at Amazon. Amazon promoted the rebate.

I auto responded back requesting what to do next, but I don't have an answer from the rebate track center yet and I'm pessimistic that they are going to work this out with me.

Do I contact Roxio next?

No need to get all worked up about this.

I'm worked up. I sent all the right info and received two postcards, one telling me the UPC Code was invalid and the other saying I was missing proof of previous purchase. Both of these messages are bogus. I did exactly what the rebate form said and sent what was requested. I 've been using Toast forever and I'm irritated that I get treated this way.

--Furthur investigation finds I am partly at fault...but not entirely. The rebate form that came in the box says: "Purchase one copy...at participating retailers". It does NOT list the retailers. This is misleading, since Amazon promoted the rebate at the time I purchased it, so I naturally thought they were a participating retailer.

The rebate form on Roxio's web site specifically lists the retailers, and Amazon is not listed.

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to look into this matter for me. I've been informed that my rebate is now valid.

A million thanks!

I dont suppose you have tried contacting customer service about this? I can contact them for you if you send me all of your contact info (name, email address, snail mail address, etc.) via a PM. No need to get all worked up about this.
