Going back to the iso image, does the preview look fine? You can preview the iso file by using Disc Copier and using the Preview tool there.

Yes I can see the movie in the preview & it looks fine.

Here is the same Verbatim +R DL disc in two different burners and EMC 9 DVDinfo Pro! Look for the Available Write Descriptor. The Plextor will burn the disc at 2.4, 4, and 6 X and produce a good disc. The BenQ will only burn the disc at 2.4 X any faster and I get what you get a coaster! Check your media before you burn and only burn at the Available Write Descriptors.

Your problem is not the same as the thread you posted to. Explain what you are doing when you get that error. To me, it looks like you are trying to copy from one disc to another.

thank you for addresing this issue.

I am using creator 9's my dvd, to burn a videowave project on a Memorex DVD+R DL

Everything is going smooth. I start the burn to disc operation.

a couple of hrs later, it gets to 97% & it starts the burning image on disk; I get the error message:

Failed to start the image writing operation Error while Burning Image

80004003 Error while Aborting

I tried again using a Philips DVD+R DL & I got the same error message!

Luckily I saved an iso image on the drive.

If I try to burn the iso image to a DVD I get the error message: Disc Incompatible With Source Disc

tried the msxml3.dll fix, restarted my system, still it doesn't burn an image.

that's my story :)

hope you can help me

Have you updated your firmware lately?

As far as I can tell you have an external USB drive - is it connected to a USB2 port? (you could have problems if your port us only USB 1.1)

Also, you may be having problems with the media. Just because it has the same label as before, it needn't be from the same source (a lot of media is outsourced and simply re-labelled)

The write speed is determined by the drive firmware btw - it reads a small info track on the disc which tells it the designed speed, size and type - this is then reported back to the program and that then sends the data at a speed to match

Yes, LG HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-2166D is connected to a 2.0 USB port. it works fine with burning DVD+_ R or RW.

Eversince I installed Creator 9, I noticed that I'm only having writing errors with DVD+R DL. it's not only with burning my DVD projects or images, I couldn't burn data files too on DVD+R DL.

I know that writre speed is determined by the drive firmware/disc info. Philips: 2.4x certified, Memorex: up to 2.4x . but the drive is writing at 4.0x (5.4MB/Sec) on both types od discs.

What LG drive? Have you tried creator classic to burn the iso?

If that won't work try imgburn (Google) free iso burn tool, in test mode at 2.4X

cd

I'm using LG HL-DT-ST DVDRRW GSA-2166D (USB) firmware 1.01

I just tried creator classic. it did start the image burning process, got to 13% & I got an error:

End of user area encountered on this track - Illegal request

there was an error trying to open the file

I tried to burn data files on a DVD+R DL & It started the process but a few minutes later got an error:

Sense: 03 ASC: 80 ASCQ: 04 (Command 2A)

-------------------------------------------------------

Px.dll: 3.0.88.500

PxAFS.DLL: 3.2.41.500

pxdrv.dll: 1.1.94.0

PxMas.dll: 3.0.88.500

PxSFS.DLL: 3.0.88.500

PxWave.dll: 3.0.88.500

pxwma.dll: 1.0.0.3

lost 2 DVD+R DL :)

I noticed that the media burn speed is set to 4x while the DVD+R DL is 2.4

Even in Roxio Classic I only had the option of 4x.

I tried imgburn. it couldn't burn the image too! the burn process didn't start.

I know for sure that I was burning the same brands of DVD+R DL on the same system & LG drive using My DVD Studio Deluxe v 6.1. I burned data & movie DVD projects on DVD+R DL.
