Problems with Vista and VideoWave 7

Luc123

Question

Hi,

I recently upgraded my computer to Vista and install Easy Media Creator 7 on it. When I launched VideoWave, all was fine, but I can't switch to the TimeLine view : the program bugs when I do it. What do I can do ? Do I have to upgrade to Easy Media Creator 9 ?

EMC 7 will not work with Vista - the only one that MS says will is 7.5

However, EMC9 is supposed to but there is a problem (caused by MS updates) with the DLA drivers and that is being worked on. However, if you don't use Drag to Disc, then remove it from add/remove programs after installing and it should be fine.

You could try the 30 day free trial first from here

That is interesting that MS said roxio EMC will work with vista, because windows (from what I read) comes with internet explorer 7 & windows media player 11, the 2 things that I have been reading that cause alot of problems with earlier (pre version 9) versions of roxio. Is anyone sure about this? when I was working with 7.5 I had to uninstall IE 7 to add titles in DVD builder.

I wouldn't install IE 7 or WMP 11. Microsoft also believes Vista is good, which hopefully, I won't ever have to find out if it is true. :)

That is interesting that MS said roxio EMC will work with vista, .

The information on the MS site has changed.

It no longer lists EMC 7.5 as working with Vista.

I thought that was a mistake anyway as it appears no one has gotten 7.5 to work with any luck and I assume that's mostly due to IE7

Do I have to upgrade to Easy Media Creator 9 ?.

I'm afraid so and as was mentioned, removing Drag to Disc after the install is needed until a definite fix is made. So far, it's working good for me.
