OSX bootable system DVDs

When I tried to back up my OSX 10.4 system DVDs with Toast 6, I was unsuccessful. The original disks were bigger than the blank DVDs I had bought. Will Toast 8’s compression feature allow me to back up OSX system disks so they are bootable and usable?

Your OS X system discs are probably dual layer DVD's. There is no way to compress a dual layer data disc onto a single layer disc and still retain the bootable properties. If you can burn to a dual layer dvd you should be able to copy without problems.
