No Sound Device

bprimm

Question

I installed MyDVD9 Premium onto a brand new Acer laptop with a DVD burner and Windows XP Media Center. When I attempt to open the slideshow asst or any item pertaining to DVD authoring, I am presented with a popup infoming me there is no sound device (a problem has been detected with your sound device) and the program closes.

Can somone please tell me why?

I can burn DVD from Media center and the bundeled Acer program with no problems.

Thanks for any help,

Brad

That sounds like a problem with the audio drivers - check on the Acer website for new drivers.

I have noticed that if you do windows update in a lot of cases it 'offers' a driver update for sound (usually a c-media one) that one will actually mess up your audio completely (the hardware update detection on that issue has a serious flaw)
