Burning Tivo Recordings to DVD via Toast 8 - NOT WORKING

Here is the problem:

 

1) when I want to burn a Tivo Recording to a DVD using Toast 8 (Titanium), I hit the red record button and things start to work but then I get an error message that reads:

 

"Not Enough free disk space. 4.41GB Needed, 1.88GB available. If you choose to continue, please remember to free up some disk space."

 

I tried hitting "continue" but eventually Toast 8 crashes. There are blank 4.7 GB DVDs that I am using.

 

I am therefore unable to make DVDs of Tivo Recordings which is why I bought Toast 8 to begin with. Please advise. Thank you.

That because your hard disk is full. You need to delete some things.

I am also having this problem and I have plenty of hard disk space! Is there any way to edit the tivo recordings to decrease the size to allow a show or movie will fit on one DVD?
