Question

Don't know much about this stuff but, Min system req is pentium processor. I have a celeron, no one has been able to tell me the difference. will this work with emc 9 ? What features ETC. won't work or won't work as well? I have Win XP service pack 2..........Celeron 2.4 gig 640 ram 80 gig HD. Would like to capture video from dv camcorder, dvd's that were recorded on panasonic recorder (vob/ac3) maybe hard drive camcorder (mpeg 2 ) and edit and re ecord to dvd. can this be done with my computer with celeron? Thanks

EMC9 will run on your system but it will be painful. Just not enough power to do much of what it offers. Burning cd's and working with photos should be ok but once you get into real video, you'll find you won't want to since it will be slow. 1 extremely important spec I don't see is your video card.

Thanks! I don't care if it's slow but I have one problem. Trying to import from canon dv. Caopturing works fine ,but for only 1 min and a few seconds. it freezes briefly and returns to showing " start capture" Saw that there are issues with canon dv and firewire card with 2 devices hooked up but, I only have the camera connected. Maybe this computer can't keep up ? Video caed? whatever came with this from Dell. Thanks to all

Use the search function at the top of these boards to seach for "capture problems" or "one minute capture" and then look at the ones where the capture is limited to one minute or so. You'll get plenty of hits and suggestions.
