Disc Write Failure on Volume Create

plee

Question

I'm getting this alert box "Disc Write Failure", "The disc burning process was interrupted, either because of an error or because it was cancelled..." during a volume build. Seems to happen when my disc size is > 16GB, anything less is fine. I'm not sure if this is the same as "temp filesize problem" or the "volume build error".

legal files, or transcoding? what kind of file, what is the structure of your project? menus? trims?

We have seen an issue with large QT MOV files. Essentially an audio handling error. That will be resolved in the forthcoming point release. Internally, we have successfully transcoded a 530 GB QT to disc.

Scott,

The whole project would be about 12 to 13 clips, 4 are HD @ 1080i 60 25Mbs, the rest are standard DVD mpg files I ripped from other family members DVD disc. I have 3 menus (could be 4 but since I'm erroring...), the main menu will show the HD clips and for "bonus" videos you goto the menu 2 and select which of the bonus video to see and menu 3 is for scene selection of the bonus video.

I started with the HD clips and that created a volume fine, next I started adding the DVD clips and put the most of the clips in when I said let me see if this works and that's when the error happened. So I slowly removing the DVD clips and got to a point where I had the 4 original HD clips and 3 DVD clips (< 16gb) it worked. I could try to put different DVD clips in, but I would think that I would be spinning my wheels....

Looking forward for the update/patch :)

Finally, figured out the problem!!! Just about given up hope, I decided to load some of clips that I ripped from a dvd into Adobe Premiere and it complained that 3 clips were not valid files. Hmmm...DVDit didn't complain to that degree. So I took those files out of the project and presto "volume completed". I think DVDit may need to tweak the reading of video files...but hopefully this will help others!!!
