gi7omy
I got this info in en e-mail from MS Technet (Ireland) and, while I don't run Vista and can't be certain if it will apply in all cases, here it is anyway "...This issue occurs because a program or a service that has User Account Control (UAC) restrictions tries to start during the Windows Vista startup process or logon process. To simplify these processes, Windows Defender blocks programs or services that require UAC confirmation from running..."
REDWAGON
Absolutely amazing how these types of creations can cause one to tear their hair out. At least MS is coming up with a solution for the blocked programs. This idea of stopping certain programs from running is not new at all so I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Frank... Guest ml
Sounds like Data Execution Prevention in new clothing. To simplify these processes......?????????? It doesn't sound that easy to get around as Data Execution Prevention. Either you keep your computer turned on constantly or you've got to unblock the programs each time you start or restart your computer. Maybe Microsoft will issue a patch to address this issue...... yeah, right.
