Certain Progams Won't Start

I have Windows XP. I recently needed to reinstall Windows. I went to reinstall Easy CD Creator 5 and during the installation, I got a message saying Unsuporrtable drive, do you want to continuse installing DirectCD 5?

I clicked yes and continued the installation. When it completed and I rebooted, I only have access to certain programs- MusicStream SoundRecorder. I try to click on Easy Creator and nothing happens. I used to get the gray menu with the 3 choices Soundstream Data etc but now its not coming up.

I have the same cd burner, so I am not sure what happened.

Any ideas??

Thank you.

(1) you need to re-download the ECDC5 updates

(2) you need to follow the information in the post pinned to the top of the board on ECDC 5 vs WinXP (you did read those posts pinned to the top, didn't you?)

(3) if you had any firmware updates for your burner, you need to get those back

OK This is frustrating. I tried to install updates and the Dell patches, and it tells me the installation failed that no valid Roxio project exists.

It is installed in my programs- Roxio 5 Platinum.

It worked fine in my Windows XP before and I have SP1

Uggghhhhhh :)

You didn't follow (2) in the previous answer. Read the posts pinned to the top of the board -especially the one on ECDC 5 vs WinXP.
