Custom Overlays

NHD Dad

Question

How do you make a custom overlay? I'm trying to create a "newspaper background" (includes a headline, words, ext) and then want to put a video clip in as a picture. The effect is the video is "framed" by a newspaper which I can control the headlines. How can I make cusom overlays or backgrounds?

Thanks in advance

Add a image of the newspaper that you want to be the background on the main track. . Add the video as the overlay. You can then resize the videot and place it where you want it. Make sure the newspaper image is longer that the video. You can always shorten the display time later. For different headlines, just add different images on the main track.

You cannot change the location and size of a video on the main track; that's why you need the video as the overlay track. Remember to account for TV overscan.

You should be able to find an image of a newspaper on line or just take a picture of one. You can then use Photosuite to first remove the headline and then add your own.

I didn't really answer your question but I hope this gives you some help in doing what you want to do.
