Widescreen (16:9) Menu question

lgbjr

Question

Hi All,

I'm using EMC9 Deluxe under Vista Ultimate x86.

All of the video that I use is in 16:9 format. When I start a project, I set the Menu aspect ratio to 16:9, and the overall menu does change to this format. However, I've only been able to find 1 (maybe 2) menu styles that support 16:9 menu items (menu item showing clip of video with text below). Even though the overall menu aspect ratio is set to 16:9, the box that surrounds each video clip is still 4:3 (so the video clip extends outside of the box).

Can I edit the actual menu styles (inside or outside of EMC9)? I've looked at the Roxio site for additional menus, but there's nothing that I could find that says that these menus are setup for 16:9 menu items.

As an alternate, is there a way to crop the video clip to fit into the 4:3 menu item?

OK, Ok, I'm blind.

I just found "change Button Style". I can select the command button style from the 1 or 2 menu styles that have 16:9 aspect command buttons (Waterfall, and I think 1 other).

I'm not sure about how well the program runs under that version of Vista but you can try these things. They work in XP.

Did you install the contents disc? Every menu that you see in 4:3 is mirrored in 16:9 Try opening MyDVD from Windows>Start>Programs>EMC 9> Video etc.

If you still can't see them, try doing a repair install from Windows>start>control panel> add remove programs etc. Sometimes the program "forgets" where everything is during the first install.

If neither of those work perhaps it is Vista. I know that Roxio is coming out with a patch for Vista soon (I'm not going to define soon.)
