lynn98109
Hi I am running Roxio EMC 7.5, so whats the connection with napster and roxio. where do I get a free version of napster. Thank You Edgar At one time, Roxio was owned by a company called Roxio. This company bought the rights and name Napster, and sold the rights and name Roxio to a different company called Sonic. Then the company formerly called Roxio renamed itself Napster, and no longer has any connection to the Software. However, their last Version, EMC 7, required the installation of Napster or it got cranky. Perhaps this isn't the problem that fixed, tho. Edgar I don't know, but you might try a Windows Add Remove Programs\ Roxio\ Change\ REPAIR before you uninstall and reinstall. You might also want to check with Roxio Tech Support. Formatting seems to be the only way to fix my problem. I fomatted 3 times to get back all function of Roxio 7.5. After about six weeks of working with the program it corrupts again. I am thinking if I can delete roxio, sonic, and napster without formatting I just might get roxio to work the way it should. Any help greatly appriciated. grandpabruce
Hi: When i try to open disc copier i get this message ( cannot initialze API ). When I try to open creator Classic I get ( Dragon Engine Intialization Failed ) Edgar Are you using Version 7.0 or 7.1? It has been a long time since I saw this, but I think that you need to install the latest version of Napster, reboot, and all should be ok. You can then uninstall Napster. I kept alot of posts from the last boards, but I did not keep a Dragon Initialization Failed, post. If the solution I suggested is not the corrrect one, someone will probably stop in and let us both know.

Thank You Edgar You do need to download Napster then. Roxio merged their burning software with Sonic, back in December of 2004, but I don't think things were finalized until after EMC 7.5 came out in 2005. Roxio then changed their name to Napster, and as one final joke, made it so Napster had to be installed to get the software up and running right. Once all is well, Napster can be removed, if a person wants to do that. The program will run properly. Check under the Roxio Home on your desktop. Look under Extras and Utilities and see if it is there. If not, just go to Napster.com , I think, and dowload and install their latest version.
