2 gig file limit?

This is probably an easy question but in burning a DVD of an AVI file over 2 gigs in size with Toast 8, I can see the file fine on the Intel Mac I'm using, but my PC can't see it at all when I take the disk over to the PC. If I break the file up into chunks under 2 gigs each, then the PC can see them. What gives?

Its an old limitation. Mac's used to gag on files bigger then 2GB as well but Apple sort of quietly resolved that a couple years back as they realized that DV video (iMovie loves DV) could easily give you larger then 2GB files. I wouldn't be surprised if Windows is still hobbling along.
