Cineplayer - DVD's won't play

jdalson

Question

I have a problem with my roxio easy media creator 8 suite (I recently updated to the latest version for 8) - i believe it is the cineplayer. I cannot play a dvd, since I installed this software. I spoke to dell (I am still under warranty) and they stated that there is a known issue between cineplayer and emc 8 suite. They even forwared me a long email (from Roxio's website) about a fix for this same issue for EMC 9. Does anyone know what I can do to play movies on this computer? BTW, the DVD's I make with the software play on my DVD home player--so I know it is a player issue. Each time I try to start the movie I get the following error: "There was an error initalizing the video stream". Apparently, this is a known problem, is there a fix for it?

Dell even stated that if I removed EMC 8, I would be able to view these DVD's (regular movies). Please help.

Sorry for the late reponse. A DVD won't play in WMP or any other program I have loaded.

I recently upgraded to WMP11 and IE7 (it did not work before I installed WMP11 anyway). Now that I have both of these, what should I do? Am I better off removing EMC 8 and replacing with EMC 9?.

As of now, I cannot view any DVD's.

Thanks
