dvd playback

dieguy

Question

I have this problem on playback of a burned dvd. After producing a movie in video wave, previewing it in MyDVD, everything looks fine. After burning the dvd, and during the playback, I am getting black spaces intermittently throuhout the dvd. I've went back and looked at the storyline in the Videowave production and there is nothing there that shows a black panel between pictures. I do have disolve transitions between each panel but I just don't understand where the black outs are coming from. Any ideas would be apprectiated. Thanks

The boards are still screwed up so post only once and it will show up. You may have to use refresh or just start from scratch to get back.

Some of this may depend on your computer. Computer specs are always helpful. Put them in your signature and they will be added to every post you make. Click on my controls at the top of the board and then -on the left- edit signature.

When you go to encode and burn, burn to an iso file. Uncheck the other options. This separates the encoding from the burning. After the iso file is encoded, close MyDVD and open Disc Copier. On the left side, navigate to the iso file and preview it there. If there are no black panels, jut copy that iso to the disc.

I usually burn to an RW disc so I can watch it on the TV to make sure I remembered to account for TV over-scan in both images and text -- sometimes I find something else I want to change in the production also. (back to the start :( ). If the RW looks OK, then you can burn as many copies of that iso file as you want.

I know the black squares you are talking about. I called it "Pixely" in a differant post.

Under your burn options, you have a selection of "interlaced" or "progressive". When I choose progressive, I get the "pixily" effect (black squares).

Choose "interlaced". That should solve your pixily problem.

I read the original post to mean that there were black images where there should have been an image rather than pixilated images.

To the OP, which are you seeing? A pixilated image is shown here:

I am only seeing a black image. Its like I placed a black image in the storyline with a disolve transition on each side. There is a picture then it transitions to the black image and then transitions to a picture. As I said, in a preview before burning, that does not show up. It is on the dvd after burning.

Thanks

Then I suggest the process that I posted.

Sorry for the confusion. I tried what you had suggested today. Again, I previewed the whole project in MyDVD first just to make sure there were no "black outs" as described earlier, which there were none. Then I unchecked burn to disc and checked save to disc as iso file as you instructed. I ran that and then closed MyDVD and opened Disc Copier and previewed the iso file there. The black outs showed on this preview. What I cannot understand is that these black outs do not show up anywhere on the MyDVD preview before burning either to disc or file. Something happens while burning to disc or file I would guess. Any suggestions would be appreciated. This board always seems to figure out something. Thanks
