Problem exporting audio from DVD

jmusco

Question

The audio I export from my DVD-R is choppy and shorter in length than the audio on the original DVD. This feature works fine in Toast 7. It doesn't matter if I export to AIFF or WAV at 44100 or 48000. I've tried everything but it never comes out right. A bug?

What type of DVD? Is it just a movie?

Standard DVD - a church sermon which I rip the audio off of to make audio CDs. I know it';s a problem with Toast 8 because it did the same with earlier DVDs which work fine with Toast 7. When I switch back to Toast 7 (after dumping the prefs) everything is fine.

What is the audio format on the DVD? You can find this by inserting the disc, choosing DVD in the Media browser, going to the Title level and placing the cursor over the title. A window will appear that describes the video and the audio formats.

I presume you are using the media browser to extract the MPEG files from the DVD before exporting the audio. Is that correct?

The DVD is PCM at 48000. I rip it to AIF or WAV at 48000. Very straightforward, no problems in the past. Today I tried it on my Mac at work and had the same problem. Since it is not working on two different machines, I have to conclude it is a problem with Toast 8.
