Actually, when I was looking for an Anti-Virus for my Win98 SE that wouldn't burn up the processor (that is another story), my software guru told me to check out reviews.

 

The review I found said Norton and McAfee and maybe another were a-ok, and had dings against CA's EZ Anti-Virus and Microsoft's One Care. CA's problem was cost per incident - in the unlikely event they missed one. Microsoft's problem was missing two viruses.
