My DVD Studio Deluxe V6

Computer meltdown. I tried to re-install My DVD Studio Deluxe v6, it will only load Record Now, Cineplayer v2, Express Labeler v1, BackUp PC? Any suggestion of to why it will not load the My DVD Deluxe portion of this program? Tried calling the support, they do not "support" v6 any longer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If there are parts of the MyDVD 6 installation still on the computer (or in the registry) the software will not install as it thinks it's already installed. You need to perform a clean install

 

Clean install:

First uninstall all Sonic products through Add/Remove programs and then delete the following folder if they exist:

C:\Program Files\Sonic

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Sonic Shared

C:\Documents and Settings\-username-\Application Data\Sonic

 

If you can’t find an application data folder, while in the Windows Explorer window browsing for these folders, select Tools, Folder Options, View tab, and select Show Hidden Files and Folders. Hit OK and look again.

 

Now go to Start, regedit, and delete the following folders by right clicking on them and selecting delete:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Sonic

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sonic

 

To ensure that you have removed as many traces of the program as possible or Add/remove Programs fails during uninstalling read about and download the following Microsoft cleanup utility and then run it removing all Sonic programs from the list.

Now restart and reinstall your products.
