EMC 9 and EMC 8

michaelp

Question

Can EMC 9 co-exist with EMC 8 on Win XP SP2 ? When I installed 9 I left version 8 intact and now I get the classic message

Roxio LP and Tape Assistant has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for this

inconvenience.

EMC 8 still works fine and for now that's the one I use.

Thanks

Agreed Jess. Probably the best thing to do is install or use just one or the other versions but not both on the same computer. The chances of having some kind of problem is reallly lessened if there is only EMC 8 OR EMC 9 installed. And EMC 8 from many posts I have read from other users (and my own experience) has been suggested as being the most disliked version. I suggest going with EMC 9 and removing EMC 8 from that same computer.

Thank you. Apart from Codec activation issues it now works.

I've seen posts before stating the two versions do not co-exist well. :(
