Missing Font?

Smokie24

Question

Hi,

Whenever I try to add text to a photo, it wont display it correctly. The other fonts listed display correctly though. The font is new. I added it to windows/fonts. Works fine in other programs but wont display it in photosuite 9. Is there a way to make it display the font?

The font is 'eve' or 'eve alpha'.

Yes I went thru control panel. Look like it installed or whatever it did. Just wont display in photosuite 9.
What kind of Font file? I think Photosuite only recognizes TTF or Opentype only. I have a bunch of Adobe Type 1 which work fine in Windows XP, but some applications that just refuse to even see them.

I installed that font. It is a bold font. When I used Photosuite to add text, it accepted the font after I had clicked on bold. I also had to adjust the horizontal scaling to separate the letters. Note that the font has a kind of H instead of an X, but I Checked with the font properties and the letters shown in the added text in photosuite are those of the font.

BTW if you are interested in fonts, you can get extended font properties viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/typography/TrueTypeProperty21.mspx

As far as I have checked, Roxio apps see all the true type fonts that I have installed in the C:\Windows\Fonts folder, so I was not aware that a fix is needed or expected.

If you mean this one:

http://www.identifont.com/find?font=wendy

It is available in several formats, including truetype, so it may depend on where you got it from. Look in your Fonts folder (details view is easiest as file name apppears in a separate column), if the file name has .ttf extension it is a true type font

(if you don't see the file extension, control panel, folder options, view tab, uncheck the box hide extensions for known file types, click apply, OK).

If it is not in your fonts folder, but somewhere else on your hard drive, that could also be a reason for Roxio apps not to see it. If so import it into the fonts folder (control panel, Fonts, File menu, install more fonts, etc,,,)

Basically EMC can only handle TrueType fonts.

Wendy is a Monotype Imaging font - sorry

You posted that while I was typing. According to

http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/downloads/le...t/wendy_medium/

it should be available as a true type font (that's listed on the right).

Its just using another program and basically saving it as a file and then just loaded/inserted the file to the project. Not quite working as intended because of the white canvas...I dont know how to make the canvas in paint transparent. i only have roxio easy media creator 9 for graphics program, new hard drive. In the end I just settled with a different font...im fighting a losing battle here lol

I had to do that with the extended character (non-English) set. If I want to use Irish accented characters, I either have to import text or use Character Map to get them. Roxio have been informed of this problem (for non-English text)
