Creating a consistency in the sound level

Rayi

Question

Hello. I have various Video music clips which have different levels of sound. I would like to create a consistency over all all the music clips so that each stay at the same sound level when you create a DVD; as opposed to some being very loud and some being very low. thank you

>This sentence seems to say that you have a video of a concert, that some songs are louder than others

I just have indvidual popular Music videos from various sources. None that I created. I am making a Music Video comprising of an hour of various artists singing. Some are louder than others. I thought normalizing the audio would bring them all to the same loudness level but it has not.

It would be helpful now, for you to let us in on what program, in the EMC 9 suite, you are using. If it is VideoWave, then do as Steve says.

Have you looked in the Project Settings? Check 'normalize audio levels'

For some reason, this setting has not made the sounds equal across the board. Some songs from each video are still louder than others. thanks

I set the "Project Settings? Check 'normalize audio levels'" in MyDVD. But I will try to do this first in Videowave.

This sentence seems to say that you have a video of a concert, that some songs are louder than others, that was what the "band" wanted. Is this what you meant to say? Or did you mean to say that when you put several video together that some songs were louder than others?

You could use VideoWave and adjust the sound volume in each clip to what you want. In VideoWave timeline, show the native track, select the one you want and double click on it to get the audio editing feature. You can adjust the levels there.

As a long work around, you could extract the audio from each clip and put them all in Sound Editor to normalize them and then put them back into each clip. Long way around and requires some technique but that will work.
