sknis
Additional information from Travel43. We have literally 1000's of digitized images of newspapers that were taken from microfilm and processed by a professional imaging firm here in Oregon. They were done in .TIF to conserve space. We've taken one of the .tif images and converted it to .jpg. Then Roxio 8 reads it just fine. Even MS Picture-it will read the .tif file and allow it to be edited but not Roxio. Maybe someone from Roxio Corp. is reading this. (Deleted what appeared to be a phone number) Thank you. It is not a good idea to post either a phone number or a e-mail address on the web. If someone want to get to you, they can use the pm function reached from clicking on your name. Can you go back to the company where you got the tif images and see what tif compression was used? If they are small, they were compressed. Image from Photosuite Image is from Photoshop to show compression types..
Patty
I have also used TIFF without any problems, they were scanned pictures from an HP scanner. I was surprised to hear that some are having a problem.

gi7omy
You may need to convert these to another format using a graphics package Try this one (it's free). It was originally developed for Linux but has been ported to Windows Just load the .tiff fioles into gimp and then save as whatever you want
sknis
Roxio cannot or will not open a .TIFF image for editing purposes. Any suggestions or fixes? From the knowledge base article: TIF files that have been saved in other applications with LZW compression are not supported. I have tiff images from a Konica Minolta digital camera and Photosuite opens them and I can edit with no problem -- check the help files. There were some problems with certain jpg files that were non-standard but haven't heard of any problems with tiff. Where did you get the images. What program and version are you using? Photosuite? What version? Much older versions would only open tif; not tiff but that has been changed.
