VOB trouble

bamagal

Question

I have searched the forums to see if other have found solutions for this issue....I have found that lots of you have this problem, but I didn't see a solution.

I put my son's football game films into my hard drive. The school put them on VHS, I copied them to DVD then burned them into my hard drive. I can watch them with several different programs. They are VOB files.

When I try to add them to videowave 9 I get nothing but frustration. Here is what I am doing:

in VideoWave9

click on "Add Video/Photo" under add content

the insert video/photo dialog box opens.....I can see the files and they are listed as VOB files

double click the file or click on it and click open

and I get another dialog box that is titled "import movies from vob" and it is reads "Please select the movies you want to import" but there are not any movies listed there!

There are 3 buttons at the bottom: OK, Cancel & Preview. But the preview button is shaded out and I can't click on it. Above the button it reads "no movies selected."

So what do I do? How can I get these movies into VideoWave9?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I have searched these forums before and resolved some others issue with the advice I found here.

Haven't heard of that problem but there is always the first one. The VOB files should be able to be used directly in VideoWave so I'm not sure what problem there is.

VOB files are really just mpg2 files. Make sure Windows is set to not hide known extensions and then rename the files to (name).mpg. Add those files to VideoWave.

Yes, Yes, YES! :D Thank you for your help, but I have another issue. Some of the files changed over to mpg great, but others will not. They still exist but most of the video is gone (they shorten up to like one minute or something). How can I correct that?

Thanks again
