burned DVD will not play on PC

Question

Hi. I am really frustrated here. I have a rather new Mac Book Pro and am using Toast 7 with latest updates. When I burn photos to a DVD, I indicate "Mac & PC" in the set up. I burn the disc, it verifies and ejects. No error messages. However, when I attempt to playback on my PC, nothing shows up! The disc is not even recognized. I have tried two different DVD drives without success. The same happens when attempting to burn photos to CD. I am hoping there is simply some setting that needs changing or something. Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks, Robert

I agree with Robert. I've just encountered the exact same problem. I've carried out Eugene's proposed solution with zero result.

HELP!

I can only speculate that you have a failing disc burner. But I'm only guessing.

I can't think of any explanation for this. Choosing Mac & PC in the Data window gets you a disc that is formatted in both HFS+ for Mac and ISO 9660 for PC. It should work. However, with the DVDs you can choose DVD Rom (UDF) as the file format instead of Mac & PC and with the CDs choose ISO 9660 and all should be readable in both Macs and PCs.

You shouldn't have to do this workaround. The problem you're encountering is inexplicable.
