Problem With Emc 7

leonperrins

Question

I have just had to re-install the prog after fitting a new hard drive.

When I start the prog, the first "Home" screen is displayed but when I select a task, i.e. Copy disc, nothing happens and the following message is displayed

"Program:....Roxio\Easy Media Creator 7\Home Page\HomePageApp.exe. abnormal program termination"

Any ideas?

The Roxio website doesn't seem to want to answer, I am still waiting for an answer to a ticket dated January 5th.

Can you open the programs from the windows programs menu? Try a repair from Windows Add/Remove Programs. Do not delete, just use repair. Make sure you do not have any other packet writing programs on your hard drive like D2D. I don't remember the other names.

Make sure you have disconnected from the internet and shut down any running programs including your anti-virus software and anti-malware. Make sure you have cleaned and defragged your hard drive if if it is new.

The prog fails to respond when trying to repair via "Add/Remove" in control panel.

Individual progs. open via the "All Programs" route but not the EMC Home.

The HD was fully formatted in NTFS and checked as AOK prior to installing anything.

No other writing etc. progs are installed.
