burning c/d and copying files to disc

Recently I purchased easy cd & dvd burning, after installing the progam and with much anticipation I tryed to burn a disc from d to e drive, disc was empty and got a message error could not complete tasc, or something to that extent.

Then tryed to copy a file via drag to disc again to e drive and again blank disc, called tech suport and agent said it is an easy problen to solve if you know what you are doing, well I don't.

here re some spacifics Windows xp with sp2 , Disc drives wdc wd 600bb 53caa1, d:/ dvdx16-dvd-rom bdv316 c E:/ dvd/cd-r lite-on ltr 482465 .

Don't really know if any of this helps just thought I'd add it in, any help getting this program up and running would really be appreciated, I an a complete novice at this.

Audio or Video? If video and they are commercial discs, then they are protected with DRM so they can't be copied legally in the US - not even for back-up.

What kind of disc are you trying to burn from?

Based on what you have posted, your "D" drive looks to be a DVD/CD Read Only drive (meaning you can't burn with it) and your "E" drive is only capable of burning to CD discs, not DVD discs.

The disc IM trying to record from are medical records, D drive has the master copy which is a cd, the e drive Im trying to copy to has a cd/rw disc.

The easiest way is to put the data disc in one drive,the blank in the other and use Disc Copier.Make sure you have the cd's in the right drive for Source and Destination.
