Burning Problem - EMC 8

Anyone else here thinks that Easy Media Creator 8 is a piece of .....?

I dished out $80 for a legal copy and have not ever been able to burn to a disc.

No wonder people go for pirated copies!

I've tried updating everything, all drivers. Nothing seems to work.

My laptop is recent(Dec. 2005). I can retrieve my movies from my Mini DV camera, setup my project. It does all the encoding and indicates that the burn is completed.

SURPRISE!!!! Nothing is on the DVD.

I'm sorry, but I can not recommend this product.

Try contacting support....forget it. I guess there's so many problems with this product that tech. support is overwhelmed with calls for help.

Gotta go and throw this software in the garbage after stomping, chewing, shooting and cursing it.

I WILL NEVER EVER BUY AN OTHER ROXIO PRODUCT!!!!

My guess is that Daithi is probably right. I just can't imagine anyone plunking out $80 (I think that's what he said he paid) and deciding to trash what they just paid for without at least trying to figure out why the program is having problems. My guess is that there is or was nothing wrong with EMC, but rather something wrong as far as his computer setup is concerned. Either software or hardware, one of the two or maybe both.

Everyone that has posted a reply to your "rant" is absolutely correct. Everyone here is user just like you and are here to help with problems. If you want some help with a particular problem and you don't give any pertinant information about what you were doing with what program in EMC and some specs about your computer, how in the world do you expect to get any help.

 

Do yourself and everyone else that's trying to help others a favor and state your problem with some facts. And you might just be surprised at how your particualr problem situation can be solved.

Good rant! I am glad to see that it is in its own thread now. Now, what seems to be the problem? You might start by telling us the programs and steps you used to create the movie.

 

Also, list your system specs, similar to what I have in my signature. A computer, purchased in Dec. 2005 means nothing, if it doesn't far exceed the minimum requirements for the program, or if it has been poorly maintained.
