need help with a file

i downloaded a file off a file sharing network. it was a movie. i am using easy cd and dvd burning by roxio. when i open the folder where the movie is in it shows up as a circle with a line thru it. i am unable to select the file to burn to a dvd. i defragmented the file till it had 0 fragments. this is an avi file and plays in my windows media player, my divx player and real player. i was able to burn it to a dvd using the divx program. i dont understand why i cant select the file to burn. technical support said it was corrupted. but if it is corrupted then why can i burn it in divx format and play it in several different media players? can any one help me with this prblem. thanks.

Even though you can play it in WMP, there still might be a codec problem. But I'd say you might want to take a look at this post and see if you may have a conflict with the divx file.

This would effect both divx and xvid files.
