Blue Screen of Death

jayb1

Question

I have recently purchased ECM9 & Vista Home Prem. Vista works fine. Parts of ECM 9 seems to work fine.

Except when I wand to do anything that requires using Audio. As soon as I enter the Audio specifications such as "Realtek 97" etc & hit done. The Blue screen of Death arrives then the Computer reboots to. "Vista has had a problem" & boots up to the Safe mode etc. Hit "boot normaly" & Windows starts normaly.

There is nothing in Ask Roxann that remotely comes close to answering this problem. Anyone got a solution?

Asus P5800-Vm

Intel Pentium 4. 3.0 Mhz.

2 Gig of DDR400

40 Gig. WD. Ide HD

160 Gig. WD. SATA 11. HD

Can you explain exactly what you are doing when you get this error? What program are you in, etc? I'd say to update the audio drivers but at this early stage with Vista, you're lucky to have any drivers working properly.

What happens when you do something simple like import an mp3 into Music Disc Creator.....will it play ok?
