i am new to this site so bear with me -- i have had ecdc5 for quite some time and it has been working fine until about 4 months ago and roxio doesnt support it-- i get errors

E80041898 write error (03/0c/00)

E80041930 track write error - wait failed (t7123)

E80004005 unspecified error

please help i was using ie 6 and was getting this problem btw

i have win xp sp2

512 ram, amd athelon 2.07 ghz +2800

-- had to get my computer upgraded but now i am using ie7 with same problem as before

the burner sounds like it is stalling from time to time wasting my cdrs -- because it fails to burn completely.

i really like roxio but if these issues are not going away i dont see why i should pay to upgrade it. please help

First, ECDC 5 doesn't work when SP2 is added to WinXP. True, some have gotten it to work, but more have not.

Second, adding IE 7 will break Versions 6, 7, 7.5, and 8 - so I don't think it would help with Version 5.

If you have WinXP, you have built-in burning which may be enough for your needs.

(altho if your burner is failing, which is what it sounds like, that may not help)

If it fails using XP to burn then likely the drive is about to give up. You could try a CD lens cleaning disc and see if that helps, but it's not guaranteed .
