jllee1
Using msconfig, uncheck DMXLauncher in the Startup tab. I can't find DMXLauncher in the Startup Tab. I used regseeker and deleted any reference to DMX that still doesn't clear up the problem. Every time I restart my system the Windows Installer tries to load Roxio Media Experience. jeanrosenfeld
In the registry there are also Sonic keys, including DMX, for example, but not exclusively HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic\DMX Maybe if in regedit you search for Sonic as well as Roxio, you will find some more EMC 9 related keys. If you have any other Sonic software installed, be careful to check out what keys belong to what.
jllee1
List your system specs, similar to how I have mine listed in my signature. It may be a problem with your video card. I believe I had completely removed every instance of Roxio. I reinstalled and so far for what I want to do (transfer LP's recorded to CD's and CD's in full *.wav format to hard drive and then DVD). ibmeubu
I upgraded from a EMC7 download to a retail disk EMC9. When installing EMC9 I did not receive any error messages. It appeared that everything was installed correctly. When I opened Photo Suite there were no tools of any kind, only the drop down menu, but none of the tools were accessible. After installing and uninstalling the program several times, I decided to return the software to Office Max where I bought it. They were great and exchanged the software, Ahh! problem fixed, right. No! I uninstalled everything related to Roxio and installed the new EMC9. Same problem and a third exchange took place with the same results. Refund please. I've used Roxio for years and it has been very helpful for all media management, BUT that was then and this is now and it don't work. Disappointed and moved on to another program. Why would anything that has so much potential and costs what it does be so difficult JUST to INSTALL.

If you have any other Sonic software installed, be careful to check out what keys belong to what. I ran two different registry cleaner programs (regcleaner and regseeker) and deleted all entries that said roxio or sonic or dmx. I also deleted anything that said rx... and looked like it was related to roxio. I deleted all roxio directories. I still get Window installer trying to install Roxio Media Experience at boot up. I can't find a reference to anything that resembles that on my machine. I want to get rid of that so I can try a clean install with no other references to Roxio on the machine before I install. I tried leaving a case with Roxio twice, but only received replies that they received my case. Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated. I even bought Nero Deluxe version, but it didn't record audio to DVD's the way Roxio does (when it works).

If it's still in there then the MS installer is going to keep trying to install it to fix it. I ran the Windows Installer Cleanup, but it doesn't show any roxio programs. There are several programs that I can't tell what they are [1.2.0000] (All users) [1.0] (All users) [2.1.0] (All users) [3.0] etc.
