Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Little help pleae.........

I recently had a serious computer issue..... forced me to but i new one.... (ok im not that upset about it) :D

But being so stubborn, i messed around with my old computer and got it working again. B)

so i went to install my roxio CD that came with my (old) computer from DELL and it is the basic version 5.0 or somethign like that..

Well i had everythign i needed with that version and i just wanted to get back to where i was but originally i installed it 3 1/2 years ago when i got computer....

I there anyway to get the upgradeto the deluxe version of version 5 ? or am i stuck buying the new version that is out now...

I really didnt want to shell out anymore money since the new computer was quite unexpected...

Thanks for the help,

K

k,

What Operating System do you have on that new computer? If it's Windows Vista, the only version that will work on that computer is version 9.

On older computers, Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Media Player 11 'break' the versions before 9.

And if the above warnings do not apply (and ONLY if), then all you need to do is go to Roxio updates.

There is a post in the ECDC 5 Forum (where your thread is no located) that explains how to attempt to get ECDC 5 onto a WinXP SP2 computer - no guarantees, but it has worked for many.

Thanks for the help guys......

it seems i will need to buy the update/upgrade........

But since i paid once for it 3 1/2 years ago I think i suffer without the CD transitions tools and fade effects.......

Thanks again,

K

Ah. I missed the "upgrade to Platinum" part. Yeah, the only way is to buy a copy somewhere like eBay or similar.

I thought you just wanted the updates to ECDC 5 Basic - but then, Dell usually has some stuff in their OEM Version that isn't included in the Basic. That includes CD transitions and fades.
