RecordNow 9 recording level with RME soundcard question.

David5487

Question

Hi

I have my desktop PC fitted with a RME HDSP 9632 soundcard.

Using RecordNow 9 for the first time.

Using the 'LP and Tape Assistant', in Step no 1, the 'Capture From' box shows my card (ie HDSP Analogue In).

But the 'input' box is blank (there are no options to choose from). Is that correct?

In addition, when a record is playing on my record deck, if you change the 'Recording Level +/ -' slider, it does not seem to change the actual input level, which appears to stay the same. Also, if you press 'Auto' when a loud passage of music is playing, it sets a level which does not seem to be loud enough (ie. it perhaps should be a little closer to the two black lines in the L and R channels)

Can anyone advise? <_<

It could be that you don't have multiple choices for the input so therefore a blank box.

As far as the sliders,go into the mixer for the card or into Windows mixer and make sure that the record slider is pushed towards max. This could be why you can't get the levels to go any higher.

Thanks, I'll give it another bash.

Hi

My Soundcard is already at maxium input level but the level in the LP and Tape assistant is still somewhat short of the two black bars. In addition, the level and balance sliders appear to be redundant- sliding them doesn't change anything.
