Maybe someone out there can help me. I have struck out completely with other Roxio Tech "Support" resources.
I am a long-time Roxio user (most recently EMC 7.5, which was installed and working. I bought and downloaded a copy of RecordNow 9. The install, though lengthy, seemed to go perfectly, and the product worked as advertised -- for one day only. The next day, when I tried to use any module, I got the message "The trial version of this product has expired." This was NOT a trial version, it was the full, paid-for product. I uninstalled and reinstalled again, same result. I have also installed with every other startup applet, including anti-virus and firewall, turned off. It seems to make no difference.
I then contacted Web Self Service, and after a delay of a few days, I got links to a set of instructions that showed me how to uninstall every trace of other Roxio and Sonic products from my computer and do a clean install. I did all this, about three times, with the same result. Product works on day one, tells me trial version has expired on day two and thereafter.
Along the way, the Roxio software also disabled my CD/DVD drive, which I fixed with a registry edit I found on the Microsoft Web site. This error is also attributed to Roxio.
In addition, I attempted to suppress the installation of parts of the software package, such as drag to disk, because I am aware that these "features" often cause problems, but the install package seems to want to install everything no matter what choices I make during the install options phase.
I am pretty fed up! I have spent hours trying to install this package so that it will work for more than one day, without success. It seems impossible to get any support from Roxio in less than several days, and I seem to have exhausted that resource in any case.
I am now in a state where I can't use my old Roxio programs (which worked fine), and I can't use the new one, which is more limited in function, which doesn't work at all.
If anyone out there has any ideas, I'd love to have them.
If I give up on the new product and get my money back, going back to EMC 7.5, will that still workl, or do I now have an unsolvable problem?
