DataCom
Hi, I have just started having something wierd happening. Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 reboots my PC when it starts to burn a cd or dvd. I haven't installed any software that I am aware of that would have caused this. The OS it is doing this in is Wimdows Me. I have a dual boot system and tried it in windows XP and it worked ok. It's not a resource issue as this is a 3.4GHZ with 1GB of ram and 760GB HD space. I also have nero on the pc and they have always worked ok on the same pc. I have uninstalled Easy CD and DVD Creator 6 and removed all traces of it in the registry, rebooted, and reinstalled it only to have the same problem. I even tried my old version 5 and it does the same thing. I have installed these mp3 apps, I don't see where they would be a problem as they do not have cd writing capabilities. Since I don't have the exact time frame of when Roxio 6 started having this problem I can't link the problem to these apps. MP3 Splitter & Joiner MpegWare CD Ripper mp3splt-gtk 1st MP3 Tag Editor What should I check? DataCom
lynn98109
I'd suggest deleting Drag2Disc if it's installed (it is NOT a way to backup if you want to KEEP the data, anyway). Also check if you have auto-updates turned on for Microsoft, and they sent you IE 7 (which will cause terminal problems with Versions 6, 7, 7.5, and 8), and if you have WinPlayer 11. If the latter two - rollback to IE 6 and WinPlayer 10, and see how it goes. The reports we get indicate that is usually the culprit. Lynn
james_hardin
Anything that uses the CD drive/burner could interfere. I would be suspicious of that CD Ripper. May want to check for firmware updates to the burner. What is the version number of your Classic program?
DataCom
It was working with both my DVD Burner and CD burner before, so there shouldn't be an issue there. Roxio Version 6.0.0.171 DVD Burner: Nec 3540A CD Burner: Iomega zipcd3840int. I have removed these so far and it still reboots the pc. MP3 Splitter & Joiner MpegWare CD Ripper 1st MP3 Tag Editor It gets through under 10 files in the file system generation phase of burning when it reboots the PC. UPDATE: SEE MY POST BELOW. I un installed Roxio and then reinstalled it. I did get an error saying "Creatorc has caused an error in database.dll" corrupted file? Try running this http://tools.roxio.com/support/tools/roxizap.exe after you uninstall, then install. This should remove any left over pieces. I un installed Roxio and then reinstalled it. DataCom
I did use roxizap.exe after I uninstalled. I also cleaned the registry of any roxio entries. The new install should have been equal to a fresh install. DataCom UPDATE: The file system generation phase of burning appears to go to 100% then when it starts to burn it reboots the PC.
