Question

Roxio MyDVD was burning fine a few weeks ago. I uninstalled Nero (maybe that did it), I can not see a srive in the Disc Utility. Strangely DVDInfo Pro shows every last detail of the burner. I cannot burn from MyDVD now.

It's a common problem with burning programs and XP. If you search for upperfilters in the EMC 9 area you'd get a lot of posts about this. One of them should help you. Here's some to get you started.

Hmm..I didn't have any UpperFilters. I did have LowerFilters_1. I deleted that, but I think what did it, was a repair install of roxio.

I take it it's working ok for you now after doing the reapir. As long as you got it working, that's what counts. Good Luck.

Yup, it's working. Incidentally, I noticed that encoding mp2 to DVD, where it has to compress to fit onto disc works much better than other programs. Nero couldn't even complete a 2-pass. Roxio results (quality-wise) were so good, I thought there was some error.
