Roxio Dvdmax Player 2.0

I am not sure if I am posting in the correct place. I have in my harddrive the above named Roxio DVDMax Player Ver. 2.0 that seems to do the same function as to Windows Media Player. I do not remember how I got that particular program. My question: can anyone help me to find out if it is part of Easy Media Creator (any version)? Are there upgrades to it? The reason I am asking is because every time my computer start

I get a small screen that says in a few words "there is a program trying to load and Windows has stop it, because can make your computer unstable and crash."

All help will be very much appreciated.

From what I've read in a google search, it's included free with Roxio EMC7 OEM. Did you get a copy of EMC with a hard drive? It looks like it's a DVD player.

 

Are you certain that's the program that's causing the problem? It should be compatable.

 

You can disable it on startup by going to Windows\ Start\ Run and typing msconfig

 

Go to the Startup tab and find the DVD Max Player. Uncheck it, click Apply and OK. Restart the computer and when the popup menu appears choose 'do not display....'

 

You could still use the program, but it won't start when the computer starts up.
