I am very new at burning cds, dvd, etc... so please bare with me.

I've created a slide show with music , burned it onto a CD-R disc. The format to which the slide show appears is "pssd" It appears that the only program that will play the disc is Roxio. Since I want to give out a number of copies of the slide show, not everyone has roxio. How can I burn or copy the disc in another format so it can be played on Windows media or other media?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can give me

I hope I am writing this correctly. I used photosuite 5 then clicked on slideshow

You might want to read this.....http://kb.roxio.com/content/kb/Photosuite/EPS000382.

It says at the bottom that "PSSD is PhotoSuite's native file format for slide shows. PSSD can only be created and opened by PhotoSuite."

Now that's not the news I wanted to hear, but thank you so much for clearing it up for me. Next question, do you have a good idea what I can do to make a slide show disc so it can be played on a "basic computer" ?

Thanks for you help

I would make the slideshow in DVD Builder, if you have a DVD writer that is what I would use for your slideshow because the quality is much better then on a cd, however, if that is all you have then at least make it a SVCD.

That sounds like an easy question...... unfortunately, it depends on what you mean by a 'basic computer'. I'm also at a disadvantage because I never used PhotoSuite 5 or EMC 6.

If you're sharing with other people, they may have computers that use Windows 98, ME, XP, Vista.....and it sounds like you want a program that will autoplay the CD. From trying to share pictures with friends and family with a variety of computers and computer skills, that is more difficult that it sounds. My suggestions are:

------ If you have a digital camera, check the CD that came with the camera. Frequently, manufacturer's include free software that will allow you to assemble and burn slideshows easily.

-----As much as I'm fond of making CD/DVDs and sharing with friends, I'm finding that some of the free online photo/video services make sharing with friends and making slideshows quick and easy.

Roxio provides a link to some of these services here under the title Photo Sharing (in Roxio Labs\ Resources) http://www.roxio.com/enu/solutions/roxiolabs/resources.html

Most of the online services allow you to create slideshows, choose who you want to be able to view the slideshow, and send an email link to the pictures that people can click on and view the slideshow automatically.

-----And, of course, make certain you've burned the original photos to a DATA CD/DVD to preserve the original resolution of your pictures first.
