Breaking an existing .WAV file into separate tracks

Clocktower

Question

I hope someone can help me....

I have a .WAV file that I previously recorded from a vinyl LP. I don't want to have to re-record it.

I just want to break that existing large WAV file into its constituent tracks. But when I launch the LP and Tape Assistant it appears that the only way to get a file to work on into the Assistant is to record it from vinyl or tape. Surely there must be a way to start with an existing .WAV file and send that into the Identify & Enhance page so I can break it into tracks. But I can't see how to do it? Am I right? Is there a way to do it? If so, how.

Any advice you can give me will be appreciated.

Thanks......

Use the Sound Editor program of the Suite.

Ooops! Please disregard my prior post in this topic. I figured it out myself. It turns out as I have discoverd that the appropriate tool for me to use is the Sound Editor and not the Assistant. In The Sound Editor I can have it read my existing .WAV file and go from there.

Thanks, anyway. Sorry to bother you.
