The Microsoft co-founder's wealth is estimated at $56 billion. Following Gates are Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, a diversified company at which you would have to invest close to $109,000 to own just one share of common stock. Following on the heels of Buffett, who is estimated to own about $52 billion, is Carlos Slim Helu, who controls a telecom empire in Mexico and has arrived at $49 billion.
