Why Am I Not Getting Track & Album Name When Converting

andyloc

Question

I am trying to convert my Cds into MP3 files. I have chosen Audio tab > Convert CDs, through EMC8 home.

When I insert the CD it connects to Gracenote and suggests an album match which I click yes to.

I then go onto convert, but when I look in the folder the tracks are just called track1, track 2, although the folder name is called correctly by the album name.

I have ticked the "add artist and album name" in the options

please help

thanks

Andy

Ah Ha I added the audio CD to the project under Multimedia disk, it then askded what bitrate to encode at, where to.

It then connected to gracenote and got the info and copied the tracks to a folder with the names written in the tracks -wooo. I checked by right clicking on a file, edit tag and saw the info their.

So why doesnt the "proper" music app do this? ie the one when you go through the Home screen to Convert CDs . It has a much easier and nice interface than using the "cheat" way of Creator clasic?

please help

thanks

All I know is that EMC8 is the first product product from the merger of Sonic and Roxio. The HOME application uses Sonic's RecordNow while the other applications have their roots with previous Roxio products.

Personally, I dislike HOME type apps. Nero does it, Symantec does it, previous Sonic apps did it. Simply makes no sense to me to run an app to run an app. It's just as fast for me to go to the Start menu to launch a program. Hey, but that's just me. LOL

ok I right clicked on the file and brought up the "edit file" program.

I tiked music file and ticked embed file information into format, it is an MP3 so does support this.

It found the track, but it will not rename the actual song, it has all the information of th track now when you hover over the file, but I want it to rename the track.

God this is so hard I thought the name of the program was "EASY MC"??

I will have to look for another program I think

Well, let us know when you find that perfect program so we can all switch too! :)

I haven't ever had any luck getting the information to transfer.

But, I've never tried to figure a way to do it either...

Its kinda strange though as hpw many different apps there are. As well if you start Home or direct you gwt different ones, as per the Audio Rip one.

I will have to use the creator classic for now, s at least I get my track names etc, wherea the one from Home,. which looks better, easier to use doesnt get the track names??? very confusing.

I prefer to launch from Home, just my preference.

cheers

I don't use HOME. It uses Sonic's RecordNow Technology. Not saying it's bad. I'm just used to Roxio products. Try using Creator Classic. Here are the FILE NAME options:
