Issues with burning onto Dual Layer DVD

stephenavunit

Question

I am having trouble trying to burn onto a -R dual layer DVD, can anyone help?

When I try to burn all transcoding processes work without fault until it finally comes to physically writing onto the DVD and then it brings up an error saying please load DVD into tray (which I have already done prior to the burning process) and the DVD tray slides out. Then when I close the tray and click ok the error pops up again. I have a feeling that it is a problem due to the 'Verbatim 4x dual layer -R DVD' that I am trying to use. I have experienced DVD brand issues before. Has anyone had similar difficulties or know what the issue is?

I know that the internal DVD drive I am using: Sony RW DW-G120A is both +-R dual layer compatible but guess DVDit Pro 6 may prefer one of the other?

for dual layer, only +R discs are supported.

Try Verbatim +R Dual Layer disc's. Firmware support is almost nonexistent for -R Dual Layer media.
