After install I removed d2d using add/remove programs and removed the file watcher from start up programs and all is running fast and smooth. I did get the dla pop up before removing d2d.
This is on a new "Gateway" GT5426E (2g ram, AMD 64x2 5000+, (Asus) nvidia 7600GS 512 video card) after installing 2-300gb Seagate sata II harddrives in raid 0 and a clean install of Vista from the recovery cd. It did not include any of the Gateway add-ons so there is no 3rd party AV software or the other stuff added outside of Vista Premium that might cause conflicts. The stock harddrive (Hitachi 320gb) is configured as jbod and used for backing up projects (iso files) after rendering using the raid 0 drive. Loaded PC-cillin internet security 2007 for Vista and no conflicts so far with it.
