mr.bobgray
I'm about to buy EMC8 but Amazon offer two versions - the "Suite" & "Essentials". What's the difference? Do they both feature Photosuite 7? BG
mr.bobgray
Didn't realize that there was an essential version of V 8; are you sure it wasn't MyDVD essentials? Don't know what is in that. EMC V8 contains Photosuite 8, an update to V 7. DEfinitely EC8. I'm in The UK, so maybe it's a regional thing. Anyway, I've now ordered the Essentials version. I'll let you know what I get. BG

I have no details but if you want everything to work, buy the one that costs the most.
patatrox
I'm about to buy EMC8 but Amazon offer two versions - the "Suite" & "Essentials". What's the difference? Do they both feature Photosuite 7?BG Creator Essentials is a lower-priced version which includes a subset of the functionality included in Creator 8 Suite. Creator 8 Essentials includes only the following apps: * Creator Classic / Roxio Retrieve * Drag-to-Disc * DVD Info Pro * Label Creator / Express Labeler * Media Import * Media Manager * MyDVD (limited functionality) * PhotoSuite (limited functionality) * RecordNow Audio/Data/Copy (Burning from Home) * VideoWave (limited functionality) In addition to only including the above applications, some are not as fully featured as EMC 8 Suite. Since you mention PhotoSuite, the following PhotoSuite functionality does not exist in Essentials but DO exist in EMC 8 Suite: - Photo Task Assistants - Exporting to slideshow - Project content - Paint brush tools - Clip art - Saturation, Sharpness and Tint fix - Wrinkle, Blemish, Dust and Scratch fix - Rotate (precise), Flip and Resize - Flood Fill and fill effect - Predefined and custom shape tools - Freehand/mask cutout - Mask/cutout by shape, color, edge tracing - Enhance Tab (Transparency, edge fading, edit calendar text, frame, mat, edge)
mr.bobgray
Many thanks. I've returned MC8 to Amazon & ordered Photosuite from The US. Pity Roxio can't be bothered to mention these prodocts on their site!

bcpalmer
I'm guessing that the version I bought off Roxio's Web site back in October is the Suite and not the Essential version, am I correct? I only ask due to the number of items that are greyed out in the MyDVD section (may be unrelated I guess). Thanks. Brian Palmer
telboy22
like others, I was unaware of emc8 Essentials as there is no mention of this on the Roxio productslist or the on the website of the supplier from whom I bought it. Is it possible to upgrade from Essentials to the full Suite. If so, how and how much?
