EMC9 MYDVD- Changing panel background color

Soupman

Question

Looking for help changing the panel background color while in MyDVD. I am creating a DVD slideshow and at one point had the option to change the panel color. After doing so, I realized I liked the default black better. Now I can't get back to an option allowing me to change the productions settings for all panels. I've tried the online help, and it doesn't solve the issue.

It says while in the production mode find the edit background option, however, I can't find this option.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I'll have to play around with that to find an answer but since it will take me a little work, please try using VideoWave to do your slide show or at least the Slide Show Assistant in the Photo tab of the home page. :)

That Assistant in MyDVD is limited and may not allow you to do that but I'll try. Actually I don't see how you could change the color background of the slides in the MyDVD slide show.

Perhaps you could give me a little more information about what you are doing? Are you changing the background color in the slide show or of the menu?

You can obviously see that EMC 9, My DVD and Video wave are relatively new to me. I started the project in Videowave then converted it to MyDVD.

I can not figure out how to now take the MyDVD production and edit it in Videowave. Am I missing a step step or is this impossible once converted to MyDVD?

What do you mean you coverted it? If you made the production in VideoWave, just open VideoWave, open your production, (.dmsm file) and make any changes to the production that you want.

My apologies. To answer your qestions.

I am trying to take the panel background color in MyDVD and change it from a light blue to a deep dark blue. I have photos attached to every panel, approximatley 275 and five audi tracks. I also layered some text effects.

I started the project in Videowave, creating a slideshow, then converted it to MyDVD. For whatever reason I found navigating this environment easier, and I believed I wanted a DVD feel with Menu's etcetera for the final product.

I originally dropped photographs into Videowave as a slideshow, then started adding background audio. I may have changed the panel background color in Videowave, but going back and playing with VIdeowave with other files, I still can't find the step necessaary to change the panel backgtround color.

Per my previous question and your suggestion, how do I now take the MyDVD production and send it to Videowave for editing?

Not possible; that's why you got the previous answer.

Sound's like you are a bit confused what the applications were designed to do.

Videowave is THE EDITOR. This is where you put the slide show together. Add the color panels. Add images, overlays, transitions , effects, etc.

MyDVD is the DVD authoring application which is for creating the MENUs, submenus, marking chapters. It also does the FINAL rendering and will burn to disc, ISO image file or a video_ts folder.

With that said, MyDVD does have 'some' editing. Select the slide show 'button' you created and click EDIT MOVIE. This should take you to an embedded version of Videowave. Be aware that there are some things you CAN NOT do with the embedded version of Videowave like 'output to file'. Personally, I don't use this very much so you'll just have to try it to see if you can change the color panel that way.
