The update circle of confusion

kevss

Question

I see a page to download 8.0.1

http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/toast/software_updates.html

that takes me to a page with link to software updates.

http://www.roxio.com/enu/mac.html

That takes me to a long list of Roxio products to update.

I choose Toast 8:

http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/software_...es/default.html

And that takes me to the orginal page back to where I began.

UPGRADE TO 8.0.1 NEVER DOWNLOADS

I am also having trouble getting the 8.0.1 update download. I had the same problems with 7.0 and all the subsequent updates. When I download the files, they only show 20KB on my computer. I attempt to open them with STUFFIT EXPANDER 11.0 and get a warning that reads:

the file "toast_ti_801_137.update.zip" does not

appear to be compressed or encoded. It is advised that you obtain further

information about the content of this file from the sender or provider of the file.

It will help to know what program created the file and what operating system(s)

the file can be used on.

I contacted Roxio back on the failure with 7.0.1 and subsequent updates and they indicated it is a

firewall issue on my computer and suggested I disable the firewall. I did disable the firewall on

several attempts and got the same results. Roxio claims I am not downloading the entire fire and

suggested I try a different download site but would not provide an alternate site to work with.

I am getting fed up with Roxio and their so called support in these issues. Up through version

6.0 of Toast, I had no problems, they started with 7.0.

Where does it end ?
